With Nelson Mandela's birthday that was on 18 July, and the call for people everywhere to celebrate his birthday by acting on the idea that each person has the power to change the world, Brenaissance Wine & Stud joined forces with Die Boord Spar and local celebrity chef Tiaan Langenegger. Together we gave 67 minutes of our time to Graceland Pre-primiary in Devon Valley where we spent time with the children and gave them a delicious meal.

67 + minutes: Making a difference
We were welcomed by the 50 smiling faces all eager ly running towards us to say hello with a hug. (Wow… what an amazing & warm welcome on a chilly winters day. ) As we made our way through the tiny pitter patter of hands around our waists we landed ourselves in the kitchen to prepare the delicious hotdogs for them. With buns all buttered, sausages warmed up, juices stacked and set, we were all geared and ready to hand out the lunches.
The teachers helped to line up the kids as we handed out the hotdogs and juices. The sweet treats we thought best to leave for them to enjoy at a later stage as they were full of life and needed no sugar boost. ;)
The sun peaked out behind the clouds and we took full of vantage and headed out for a bit of fun. After twirling ourselves dizzy, doing “weight lifting”, jumping and playing with the little ones we were exhausted (phew… little bundles of endless excitement and engery).
Time flew past too fast and sadly it was time to say goodbye to all the kiddies. After the 67 minutes + we spent with them I am not sure who was making more of a difference; us treating them to a “yummy” lunch or them touching our hearts and reminding us that it is okay to ‘let go’ and have a little fun.
We will surely visit the Graceland Pre-primary again soon!
